Tu Hanh Pagoda – Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam 2023
During the winter of 2023, our grandparents continued TranScience’s mission of supporting orphanages in need while we were unable to travel due to school. In Ho Chi Minh City, they visited Tu Hanh Pagoda again, an orphanage identified as needing assistance which we visited last winter. On behalf of TranScience, they donated school supplies and food for the children. As shown in the photo, each child received a bag filled with essentials, while monks helped stack larger donations of rice, noodles, and other locally sourced food to support the wider community.

Chùa Tu Hanh received funds donated from TranScience that helped restore temple roofs and refurbish items for the community’s use.

Monks help organize boxes of rice, oil, noodles, beans, flour, and formula, nonperishable vegetarian food purchased from vendors earning only $5 a week, to aid families in the underdeveloped community surrounding Chùa Tu Hanh.

Outside the temple, children received goodie bags packed with snacks and school supplies from our grandparents, offering heartfelt thanks to TranScience for making it possible.
