A free food allergy app for families, coming soon
For a family living with food allergies, every grocery run and every meal out starts with reading. Ingredient lists are long, recipes change, and menus rarely spell out what is in each dish. Most of that checking falls on parents.
TranScience is building a free app to help families with that reading. It grows out of the mission we started with: promoting science, healthcare, and innovation through education, and putting useful tools in the hands of the families who need them.
What we are building
- Scan a packaged food label and see which of your family's allergens appear in the ingredients.
- Take a photo of a restaurant menu and see which dishes list those allergens.
- Keep a profile for each person in the family, each with their own allergens.
- Free for families.
Please keep in mind
The app is a reading aid. It does not give medical advice, and it does not replace reading the label yourself. Ingredients and recipes change, so always check the package, ask the restaurant, and follow the plan you have made with your doctor or allergist.
